Artist Statement
Topographic Map Series

I create maps to help people explore new places.

Maps of all kinds have always interested me, but after
moving to the Pacific Northwest and seeing my first
topographic map ­­— those squiggly lines, the patterning
and spacing; I was hooked.

Today I make my own versions of topographical maps
using layers of burlap dyed with vibrant colors. I invite
the audience use my fiber maps to travel and explore.
